"Elite" Epsilon Chapter, chartered in 1920, is the fifth oldest chapter in the history of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. From 1920 to the 1940s, the chapter was composed of both graduate and undergraduate members. Epsilon was officially chartered as an undergraduate chapter on October 28th, 1948 encompassing all colleges in New York City at the time. Today, Epsilon Chapter covers all four-year accredited colleges and universities located in the boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx. Soror Edith V. Francis, one of Epsilon’s undergraduate charter members went on to serve as the sorority’s 18th National President from 1980-1986. Soror Michele L. Greene has served in varying positions on the local, state and regional level including National Third Vice President. Soror Indhira Castro, also served as the past Undergraduate Representative to the New York State.


Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is a community-conscious, action-oriented organization committed to effectively and compassionately meeting the needs of the communities it serves. Without exception, the women of Epsilon Chapter are equally committed to improving the quality of life in their local communities, while embracing the transitions needed to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.
